For 35 years, the Harvest for Hunger campaign has been a beacon of community collaboration, becoming one of the largest food and funds drives in the nation. We team up with three local food banks — Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio — from March–May to collectively fight hunger across our communities.
Every dollar and every item raised through this vital effort stay right here in Northeast Ohio to feed our neighbors.
The Harvest for Hunger campaign’s roots go deep, starting in 1992 with the Greater Cleveland Committee on Hunger. Recognizing its incredible necessity and impact, the four regional food banks officially joined forces in 2003, committing to continue and expand this critical tradition.
Over these 35 years, this collaborative approach has created an astounding impact for neighbors facing hunger throughout Northeast Ohio. Last year alone, thanks to the generosity of our community and partners, the campaign raised $11 million!
This year marks a major milestone: the 35th Anniversary of Harvest for Hunger. We are determined to finish this campaign strong and maximize our impact for families, children, and seniors in need.
