For Taylynn, feeding her growing boys has become a challenge with the high cost of living. “With having three boys ages 7, 4, and 11 months, it’s a challenge every month. We are trying to fight food costs and make sure they’re well-taken care of,” she says.
Taylynn’s partner works, while she stays at home and takes care of the boys. Her main priority is making sure that her boys don’t have to worry about where their next meal will be coming from. At St. Gabe’s Food Pantry, one of the Food Bank’s 1,000+ program partners, Taylynn can make sure her kids are getting the best possible meals.
Before seeking out the Food Pantry, grocery store trips were stressful with the high cost of living and food prices. But now that she has access to food pantries like St. Gabe’s, Taylynn doesn’t have to worry as much about buying nutritious food for her kids. “When I go to the store, I don’t have to think, ‘Oh I can’t afford this,’ because of the prices.”
She notes that the food from the Food Bank allows her and her kids to try new foods and recipes. Taylynn is able to make more food and different dishes with the various fruits and vegetables provided.
“This place, for me, is one of the things that I honestly am thankful for every day. It means the world to me and my children to be able to come here,” adds Taylynn.
Thank you for everything you do to make our partner food pantries successful! You’re changing lives every day.
