Food Bank Launches New Strategic Plan

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank recently launched its 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, guided by a new mission statement: Together with our community, we provide nutritious food and essential resources so our neighbors facing hunger can thrive. This plan reaffirms our commitment to being a reliable source of food and support in uncertain times.

Key Goals for 2026–2028:

  • Distribute 56.5 million pounds of food annually through our network of more than 1,000 partners — maintaining high distribution levels despite reduction in funding for public nutrition programs.
  • Serve at least 75% of income-eligible individuals in our service area (currently 424,032 people living below 200% of the federal poverty level).
  • Help 35,000 neighbors apply for SNAP and other public benefits annually.
  • Ensure 75% of distributed food is rated nutritious.

The Strategic Plan also outlines goals and tactics across seven priority areas: High-Impact Programs and Services; Food Distribution and Operations; Advocacy; Staff, Volunteers, and Culture; Technology; Communications; and Financial Resources.

This robust three-year plan strengthens our dedication to ending hunger today, tomorrow, and for a lifetime. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we will continue to provide nutritious food and vital resources so our neighbors can thrive.
