Jayne and her grandkids are making a difference … one shift at a time!

At the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. And some of our most dedicated helpers are showing up as a family.

Jayne and her grandchildren volunteer together regularly — sorting donations, checking expiration dates, and packing boxes with nutritious food. “We participate in whatever task the Food Bank requests,” Jayne shares. “They can actually see what has been accomplished.”

For Jayne, volunteering is about more than checking off a to-do list. It’s about living out her values — and passing them on. Through school, faith, and home, her grandchildren have learned the importance of giving back. And the Food Bank, she says, “gives us the opportunity to put the words into practice.”

It’s a highlight for her grandkids, too. In fact, they love volunteering so much, “they wish they could do it more!”

Jayne and her family represent the best of our community — caring, compassionate, and committed to helping their neighbors. We’re so grateful for them and the hundreds of other volunteers who show up to sort, prep, pack, and serve each week.
