Sonia knows firsthand the value of fresh, nutritious ingredients!

A former food industry worker with a passion for cooking, Sonia has been visiting the Food Bank’s Community Resource Center for over six months, and she’s quick to share how much of a difference it has made in her life.

“It helps me so much with everything being so expensive these days,” she says. “Grocery store prices have skyrocketed. This place helps me get what I need to feed myself for the whole month, and I can save money for other things. Now, I don’t have to worry about not being able to pay my bills.”

Sonia especially loves the variety and quality of the food she receives. “The food here is great. I love the fresh vegetables. Everything is always fresh; I haven’t gotten anything bad here in the six or seven months I’ve been coming.”

The peace of mind that comes from visiting the Resource Center is hard to overstate, and the dignity and options the grocery store setup gives visitors like Sonia is priceless. And it’s all thanks to friends like you!

“I know there’s a place I can go. I don’t have to worry about being hungry,” Sonia explains. “They have things that I like, and you have a variety, so there’s something for everyone. It’s like a grocery store. I can pick what I want! It’s an amazing experience.”

Sonia is also thrilled about how she can stretch her resources now. “Meat, milk, everything is so expensive! It helps my food stamps last longer. I can get chicken, turkey, pork chops, fresh milk, eggs, cheese — things that are so expensive in stores.”

Sonia is just one of the many people whose lives have been transformed by the generosity of donors like you. “We appreciate it so much. Please don’t stop! You have a heart of gold to help people in need,” she says. And we agree!
