CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicolette (Nikki) Jaworski as its new Chief Communications & Advocacy Officer, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience in communications, public affairs, advocacy and community partnerships to the organization.
In this role, Jaworski will lead the Food Bank's communications, marketing, public policy, advocacy efforts, and public education helping advance the organization's mission to provide nutritious food and essential resources while so our neighbors facing hunger can thrive.
"Nikki is an exceptional leader with a remarkable ability to build partnerships, inspire action and communicate with purpose," said Kristin Warzocha, President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. "Her experience spans every level of public service—from local communities to the national level in Washington DC and she understands how to bring people together around important issues. As the need for our services remains high, Nikki's leadership will help strengthen our voice, deepen community engagement and advance policies that support our neighbors facing hunger."
Jaworski’s career spans public service, strategic communications, government affairs and advocacy, with leadership roles at the White House, AT&T and in Ohio state government.
At the White House, Jaworski served as Director of Presidential Press Advance, leading communications planning and media operations for the President of the United States across domestic and international travel, major events and rapidly evolving situations. Previously, she spent nearly a decade at AT&T in senior public affairs roles leading government relations, communications, advocacy and community investment. Earlier, she served as Chief of Staff for Economic Development at the Ohio Department of Development, advancing statewide economic development and public policy initiatives.
Most recently, as Executive Director of the Cleveland Rowing Foundation, Jaworski expanded youth and community programming, built partnerships across the region and secured significant public and private investment to support the organization and its riverfront campus.
“I’ve spent my career at the intersection of public service, communications and community impact,” said Jaworski. “The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is one of our region’s most trusted and respected organizations, and I’m honored to join this team. I look forward to telling the stories of our neighbors in ways that inspire action, strengthen advocacy and help ensure every person has access to the food and resources they need to thrive.”
A proud Clevelander, Jaworski’s commitment to community is rooted in her family’s history in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood. Throughout her career, she has brought together leaders from government, business, nonprofit organizations and communities to address complex challenges, build coalitions and create meaningful impact across Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Jaworski joins the Greater Cleveland Food Bank at a critical moment for hunger relief and the broader social safety net. Last year, the Food Bank served more than 404,000 neighbors across Northeast Ohio through its network of more than 1,000 community partners. As demand remains high and the public policy and funding landscape continues to evolve, the Food Bank continues to connect individuals and families with nutritious food, benefits assistance and other essential resources.
