Many people know Cleveland Clinic to be a world-renowned institution that prioritizes patient care, research, and education. Not only are they innovative in health care, but they are also a strategic partner to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and our efforts to fight food insecurity, and specifically childhood hunger, in Northeast Ohio.
Recently, Cleveland Clinic announced a five-year, $50 million commitment to reduce hunger and improve access to nutritious food across Ohio, Florida, and Nevada through direct support to local food banks! This remarkable commitment will help hundreds of thousands of people, and it sends a powerful message that good health begins with access to nutritious food. As one of the food banks receiving support, we are deeply grateful to Cleveland Clinic.
Additionally, Cleveland Clinic has made an incredible impact through the mobile pantry program which provides nutritious food such as proteins, shelf-stable goods, and seasonings. They also provide health services by administering vaccines, flu shots, COVID testing, and cardiac awareness literature.
Dr. Tomislav (Tom) Mihaljevic, Chief Executive Officer and President of Cleveland Clinic, has also played an integral leadership role in the annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign, one of the nation’s largest food and fund drives. Dr. Mihaljevic served as a co-chair in 2024 and 2025 and helped raise close to $20 million for neighbors in Northeast Ohio.
Through this collaboration of two Northeast Ohio powerhouses, we can serve more neighbors and increase access to resources that can help them thrive in the long term. Thank you for making partnerships like this possible!
