Lifeline Through Illness

Tasheika worked for years in customer service for an insurance company. But last year she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Brain fog, pain, and other MS symptoms made it impossible to continue working or even driving herself. With inflation, her family’s support wasn’t enough to keep her and her teenage son afloat. So Tasheika turned to our partner, the Maple Heights Food Pantry.

"Without this food pantry, it would be very detrimental, because this food panty has helped replenish food so I could eat today," Tasheika says. Without access to the Food Pantry, she wouldn’t have healthy food. "But here, I can get some produce, vegetables, and fruit."

"Sometimes you just need a little help, and that’s what the Food Bank is here for—for families that just need a little help."
