Grab and Go Meals Bring Joy to a Thankful and Energized Child

Jacob is an 8-year-old with a big heart. Jacob and his dad stopped by at one of the Food Bank’s Grab & Go meal sites to receive a bag of food with items like sandwiches, canned soup, fruits, vegetables, and chocolate milk! When asked about some of his favorite foods Jacob replied, “I really love spaghetti – oh, and apples too!”

Jacob was very excited about all the food he received as he took each item out to show us just what it was he was going to have for lunch that day.

“This is awesome. It makes me really happy that we could come here and get food,” Jacob expressed.

Not only was Jacob getting lunch, he was also able to receive a few reusable face masks from the Food Bank, something his dad was very impressed with.

Although both Jacob and his dad were wearing masks, we could still see their smiles from their eyes and gracious words.

Jacob wanted to thank the donors and people that were able to provide him with this “awesome, free lunch!"

At just 8 years old, Jacob understood the generosity that goes into the food he received.

As they drove away, both Jacob and his dad waved outside of the window and drove off with high spirits and soon-to-be full stomachs!
