Harvest for Hunger/About Harvest for Hunger

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the local coordinator for the 21-county Harvest for Hunger campaign.

Harvest for Hunger began in 1992 and was organized by the Greater Cleveland Committee on Hunger. In 2003, the organization merged with the Cleveland Foodbank to fulfill its mission of working together to feed those at risk of hunger.

Since then, the scope of the campaign has grown. In its first year, the campaign raised $290,000 and collected 362,000 pounds of food. In 2013, it raised a record-breaking $4.1 million and collected more than 372,000 pounds of food. These resources will provide for more than 17 million meals over the next year.
